Frequently Asked Questions
Tickless® is a chemical-free ultrasonic device designed for preventive use. During operation, it emits ultrasonic pulses and is designed to help reduce encounters with ticks. The technology has been developed so that its use is not disturbing to humans or pets.
Ultrasound is sound at frequencies above 20,000 Hz, which is outside the human hearing range. The human ear can generally detect sounds between 20 and 20,000 Hz, although this range may change with age.
Dogs and cats can detect higher-frequency sounds than humans; however, the approximately 40 kHz ultrasonic pulses emitted by Tickless® devices are designed so that their use is not disturbing to them.
Although dogs and cats can detect higher-frequency sounds than humans, the approximately 40 kHz ultrasonic pulses emitted by Tickless® devices are designed so that their use is not disturbing to dogs and cats.
Yes. Tickless® technology has been examined in several studies. In 2012, a study was conducted at the Laboratory of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Camerino in Italy. The results support that Tickless® technology helps reduce the number of tick bites.
No. No method can guarantee complete protection against ticks. Tickless® is a chemical-free ultrasonic device designed for preventive use and to help reduce the chance of tick bites.
The presence and activity of ticks can vary depending on the area and time of year, so extra caution is especially important in areas with high tick activity. After outdoor activities, it is always recommended to thoroughly check your body and your pet's coat.
Yes, this can happen. Using Tickless® does not prevent a tick from getting onto your clothing, skin, or your pet's coat from vegetation. Tickless® is an ultrasonic device designed for preventive use and to help reduce the chance of tick bites.
If you find a tick on yourself or your pet, remove it as soon as possible, whether it is still crawling or has already attached. After outdoor activities, it is still recommended to thoroughly check your body, clothing, and your pet's coat.
The product is not waterproof, but it has increased resistance to moisture (IP13). After contact with water, it is recommended to dry the device immediately, after which it can continue to be used.
Once dried – using a hair dryer that does not blow hot air – the product will most likely continue to work, but getting wet may affect battery life.
The Tickless® device can remain attached when it is raining. Once you return home, the device should be dried using a hair dryer that does not blow hot air.
No. For the product to work effectively, it is very important not to obstruct the emitted ultrasonic waves by covering the side with the grille.
For effective operation, the device should remain continuously attached to the animal. If you remove your pet's collar at home, we recommend using the Tickless® Home device indoors.
Under average weather and temperature conditions, the Human, Hunter, Baby, Kid, and Pet devices operate for at least 6 months. The rechargeable Tickless® Mini, Run, and Active products can work for years.
You can use the LED to check the operation of the device at any time.
For Tickless® Baby, Kid, and Pet devices, the LED flashing once when the button is pressed indicates that the device is operating properly.
For Human and Hunter devices, 4 short green flashes after pressing the button indicate that the device has been switched on, while a long red flash indicates that it has been switched off. When switched on, the light flashes approximately every 5 minutes.
Yes. Tickless® can be used alongside other tick and flea solutions. Since no method can guarantee complete protection against ticks, it may be worth considering multiple preventive methods, especially in areas with high tick activity.
There is no known direct connection between Tickless® ultrasonic technology and epilepsy.
Tickless® ultrasonic technology works differently from traditional flea and tick collars and spot-on products. The device is free from chemicals and fragrances and emits ultrasonic pulses during operation, so it does not apply active ingredients to your pet's skin or coat.
The Tickless® device can be attached to clothing using its clip or a cord threaded through the opening. Do not obstruct the emitted ultrasonic waves by placing the device in a pocket or bag.
Miteless® Home has a range of approximately 30 m². Ultrasound does not travel through walls, so a separate device is recommended for each room.
Miteless® Home is best used in the room where you spend the most time, such as the bedroom or living room. Plug it into an easily accessible electrical outlet, and do not cover it or place it behind furniture so that the ultrasound can travel freely.
Alongside using Miteless®, regular vacuuming and cleaning are recommended, especially in areas where dust can easily accumulate. Regularly cleaning bedding, textiles, and other frequently used surfaces can also help reduce the amount of dust mites and allergens.
No. Ultrasonic waves do not travel through walls, so a separate Miteless® Home device is recommended in each room where it is needed.
